i just recieved my vent visors , the kind that install with adhesive tape--i was just wondering if i am going to run into any adhesion problems when it comes to applying these over the black tape trim---should i still use the prep pads or will they break down the black tape stuff?

You look very familiar. At times like this you must ask yourself...

"What would Red Green do"?

You don't apply it to the black trim tape, the Vent Visors mount on the painted part of the door. Just make sure that the mounting surface is very clean before sticking them on there.

I believe the prep wipe is nothing more than an alcohol soaked wipe. Shouldn't have any effect on the trim tape. Like LilBean said, most important thing is to make sure the surface is clean.

You are correct, they attach to the black part. I had no problem with them on my 07 Sonata or my Santa Fe. Also have them on my mom's 03 Sonata and after 4 years they are still in great shape. I keep them waxed and I did use the alcohol pad it comes with.
