I keep looking at the side of my Sonata and thinking I would like some kind of stripe running between the top edge of the rear and front lights along the side. If I had money, I'd paint the whole car a light aqua from that line to the bottom (Boyd Coddington style), but alas...

Just looking for input on this. Anyone have a pinstripe on their Sonata? Or did pinstripes go out in the '80's and I'm just behind the time???

My wife & both agree on this, the best thing we did for the looks of our cars was to pull the pinstripes off our cars. The dealer installed them and they didn't look too bad, but once I took my pinstripe off, my wife immediately had me take her pinstripe off too.

I happen to like mine...I have the Natural Khaki and the top stripe is that dark grey color like the top of the dash and the bottom stripe is beige like the rest of the interior...Since I have the SE and don't have any chrome on the doors it helps make it not look so plain...

[personal opinion]

I hate pinstripes. Most ruin the designed lines of the car.

Every Hyundai,Suzuki and Kia at my work gets pinstripped, as a matter of fact I stripe them. We get alot of people who want them off. There are some cars such as the Suzuki SX4, Veracruz and Santa Fe that just look horrible striped. The vinyl stripes are horrible, you get wax inbetween them and if they aren't applied correctly, they fall off. Painted stripes are the best.

The dealer put one on mine, and I had them remove it before I took delivery of the car. I had them remove the dealer decal also, I hate those!

I think that a properly placed and colored pinstripe could look good. For example, a dark red stripe on a black car.

Yeah, I took the dealer sticker off as soon as mine hit the driveway too. I just keep thinking the car needs something. Maybe I should do chrome door handles or something, I don't know.

I told the dealer as they were prepping the car "No dealership logo, the license plate holders were enough". Of course those came off almost immediately! If they want to pay me for advertising for them, that's one thing. But unless they money up, I want a clean look.

As for pinstripes, my silver blue Limited already had sparkle silver stripes installed. I would not have asked for them, but they do look nice. They are hardly noticable. As long as they are in good condition, they stay. I love the look of the car, even better exterior than the 09's. I do, however, like the 09 interior better. I think the exterior of the 09 is too thick, or something like that. Just not as crisp as the 06-08s.

i hate the dealer logo on the car, it was so hard to remove mine. It makes it seem like they own the car or something!
