Question

Okay so I received a 'notice' in the mail about my 7500 mile service...I am about a 1000 miles overdue for that check up...are they gonna hassle me about it? Or will they just push back the intervals to match mine? Now me having missed the maintenance check was completely my fault. I just hope they don't try to void my warranty or something

They shouldn't void anything. The 7500 mainteneance is an oil change and filter and rotate tires. If they hassle you call the hyundai consumer hot line.

You will be overcharged anytime and everytime you go for a "package deal".

Tell them specifically what you want - or better yet do it yourself if you can.

You need an oil and filter change - should be less than $50 if dino (conventional) oil is used which is almost certainly the case. Also, check the air in the tires and all fluid levels - this you can definitely do yourself.

Rotate tires? - I do not do it unless and until there are signs of uneven wear. People will undoubtedly argue six different ways from Sunday on this topic, but I have never had a problem in 50 years of driving.

You sound like you are worried too much about what the "dealer will think or do".

It's your car and your money - you and I are keeping the dealers in business.

Yes but one of the reasons Hyundai has become the leader in the Warranty business is because they do attempt to deny Warranty claims if you don't have the proper timely maintenance records.

And the reason a rotation is important at 7500, at least on my LX, the darn rear wheel (on a Front Wheel Drive Car ) spins if you give it too much juice.

Now that $139 alignment question, especially at a Firestone Dealer sounded like a recipe for disaster.

This is obviously a Hyundai sponsored program to scare you into getting your maintenance done at the dealership.

I just got one of these notices from my dealership (Power Hyundai of Scottsdale). It states "Our records show that [b]YOU MISSED YOUR LAST REGULAR SERVICE VISIT under the guidelines of your Manufacturer's Warranty. This service is [b]NOW OVERDUE"

It also states that the service due is my 21,000 mile maintenance and it is due by December 1 of 2006. Since I haven't even made it to 18,000 miles yet I would believe that their records are a little bit suspect.

I go to the dealer at 7500 mile intervals and change my own oil at about 3700 miles. If they ever refuse to do warranty work on my vehicle I will get an attorney and shove it right up their tail pipe.

I hope that Hyundai reads this forum. Crap like this is not going to make me a repeat customer.

I don't think Hyundai has anything to do with this type of marketing. If anything the marketing they are doing is giving away big bucks for free service. Forget the $10 off to Winterize, or Summarize your Car. They just sent me a $40 Coupon for anything service related. Perhaps you read my post about it, fantastic response, not one reply.

NOW, what really bothers me are those official looking [b]"This is your last chance to purchase an Extended Warranty" mailings by Fred's Warranty Company. Est. 2001.

How did Fred get my name & address?.
