Have all kinds of front end knocks and clunks going over bumps and when stepping on the brakes when backing up. Looking to make a parts list to replace everything at once. I see the upper control arm has 2 bushings and a ball joint, the lower control arm has a bunch of bushings and a ball joint. What else should I replace?

other possible culprits can be sway bar bushings, sway bar links, or strut mount rubber.
Links are about 35 a piece Strut mounts are about 30 a piece Bushings are 15 for both sides. |

Because of the metal cup that fastens the sway bar bushing, you cannot visually see if it's cracked. But if you don't have creaking sound, then I suppose you won't need to change sway bar bushing.
It is a major pita to change anyways. |

Not sure if youre alignment is perfect, but since it seems like you're redoing the entire front end, maybe adding an adjustable ball joint? I think mevotech makes one for our Sonatas.

Jack up the car and try to move all the tie rods, ball joints, sway bar and bushings to see if there is any play. With tie rod ends, you can often just grab them with your hand to see if they're loose. Ball joints and bushings may need a pry bar. Many times, a clunking is caused by excessive play in some part, allowing things to move around, which creates the knocking or clunking sound.

I've got one strut out so far. It's got the Hyundai/Kia brand on it so I assume its original. Any way to tell for sure, like a date code? Makin a list. Struts, strut mounts. Are the springs still good if the car isn't sagging?
