Please help
We operate 5 CRDi sonatas as taxis in New Zealand and have had fuel dilution faults will all of them since new, has anyone else found this problem. As the cars are now out of warranty the dealer and Hyundai New Zealand are denying liability, as the fault has become so bad (have to service some vehicles every 2000km) the cars are becoming un economical to use but have less than 150,000km ? Any ides would be appreciated, as the only option seems to be discarding the vehicles. More info : Hyundai New Zealand replaced 2 cars injectors as we proved they were faulty, as for the damage done to the engine and the other cars the have the same fault they are denying responsibility. When the cars were purchased the fuel usage were were 'quoted' and was apparently very accurate and achievable as 7.2lpkm we are struggling to obtain 10kmpl The service intervals were originally advised to be 15000km, recently we have been advised "Taxi use" is deemed to require services at 7500km, the dealer service manager at the dealer even stated they were not suitable as taxis, has anyone ever heard of this before ? These are only the issues I have time to write down now but are the most serious as it affects all the sonatas we own, thought I should let you no we also have a car with less than 150000km just over 3 years old that requires a new transmission, has been at the dealer for months waiting for a accurate price for repair (we paid about $1200 for diagnoses so far, not willing to commit any more as new transmission cost $18000) As stated any and or all help would be appreciated, have even email Hyundai Korea but that just seems to anger Hyundai New Zealand. |

All I can suggest is to make as much public noise as possible as that seems to be the only way to move such a behemoth as it might affect their sales. I, for one, will not buy another Hyundai. Already tried selling it privately but no takers. Even its trade-in value is so low now that I can virtually write it off after 6 years. |
