I just got my car today, instead of replacing the seat cushion they reprogrammed it works just like it was when I bought the car six years ago. I did have to pull teeth to have the seat fixed but it is back to normal. Instead of spending $1,400 to $1,600 to replace it may just need to be reprogrammed .You will have to fight to get it fixed because this a silent campaign; My car qualified because of the B1448 code.

It is model years 2006-2008 sonatas. You must contact consumer affairs to get it done and the red dashboard light has to be on with diagnostic codes B1448, B1449, and B1450 to qualify for your passenger seat to be programmed or repaired.

If we're thinking of the same recall, I didn't think a failure of the sensor causing error codes would be covered. The recall is about reprogramming the seat sensor if it's failing to sense people when they sit in certain positions or don't weigh enough. If the sensor just breaks, that isn't covered, as far as I know.
My very unreliable Sonata now has the airbag error light illuminated, so I need to take in in and see what they say. My passenger seat is still sensing people, it seems. The "passenger airbag off" light goes out when someone sits there, usually. If my girlfriend sits in a weird position sometimes it won't sense her. More info here: Recalls - Search Results | Safercar.gov | NHTSA Here's what the airbag recall for my 2007 says: Quote:

Did the scanner you bought actually read codes, or just clear them? That wasn't made clear to me in your posts.
I'll likely be fixing it myself, but I don't have access to scanner that can read Hyundai airbag codes. I know a shop that might, but I haven't asked them yet. I think their diagnostic fee is around $50.

Can you post what make and model your scanner is? I've been searching for months and the only device I can find to scan airbag codes is either Hyundai's HyScan tool, or SnapOn brand, both cost thousands of dollars... Thanks!
