I don't post a lot of threads on here but if you read some of them, if I don't like something, I say it like it is.
My headlight bulb was out on the passenger side (same original one from the day I Bought this car...so it lasted about 4 yrs now). A state trooper stopped me at 3 am last night and luckily he didn't give me a ticket but just told me about the light. ![]() I have to say, kudos to Hyundai for making this design so easy to replace. Even though the manual instructed to take the 4 bolts off to take out the housing....you can [b]clearly do it without. Simply by unplugging the source wire there is ample room to unclip the original H7 bulb. ![]() I know this may not seem like a big revelation to yall, but coming from a 2006 nissan Maxima, which literally takes one hour to change a simple headlight bulb,....this design can make a person smile! On the 6th gen Maxima, you have to either take out the entire bumper or, the method most use, is a) removing the wheel unclip half of the wheel splash guard, and then have access to it in that manner....but even there the space is so tiny.To add to this, the insulation rubber piece design on this car seems to be better than the Maxima. Probably why the Maxima tended to have condensation from inside when I spray it with high pressure water. I just replaced it with some cheapo 30 dollar pep boys bulbs - It says simulated HID but I doubt this will be any brighter than oem. I will eventually do the HID thing, but I really needed to replace this as I drive at night all the time so i couldn't wait for ebay items in the mail. ![]() |

Now for the $64 question... seeing you installed the bulb with the lamps in the chassis (3 bolt to remove the lamp)....
Did you make sure to index the bulb in the socket of the housing so your light projects out proper, rather than a ball of fuzzy light...

Blasphemy! I tried and couldn't do this. I ended up using a sledge hammer to break the bolts off because I couldn't get to them, now it sits in there use RTV silicone. Just kidding(inside joke to 3rd brake light). I end up having to take the 4 bolts out, I've tried this method but I couldn't get the clip out.

In the manual, i see the top 3 bolts just fine and follow it with the picture, however, the fourth on is the one inside right? How in the **** do you take that one out ? |

I tried to honestly do this the right way first ...but It didn't want to wiggle out. So it is only held by the three bolts on top of the bumper? |

It works better at night cause if you use a flash light you can see the socket better to properly index it as Sbr711 said. |
