Climate control not lighting up

Has anybody ever had the climate control unit out? I noticed recently most of the lights on my mom's unit (model year 2000) are burned out. At least I'm assuming they're just simply burned out and it's not some electrical issue.

Are the climate control lights simply the little twist-in style commonly found on gauge clusters? Anything I should look for other than burned out bulbs?

Seriously though, I don't think mine ever had em, also a 2000

There are lights in there. Mine (2000 GLS) are fickle. Sometimes they require a technical tap to get them to come on. I haven't taken the bezel apart to find where it's shorting.
