Glad to hear you still have a job. Even though you aren't happy with it, it's MUCH easier to get a job when you are already employed. I've been on several interview panels, and an unemployed candidate is always scrutinized at much more closely than the others.

Don't let any grass grow under your feet in looking for a new job. It isn't worth it to work where you aren't getting satisfaction. Your performance will inevitably suffer and you won't get anywhere. Do something you love and there aren't any limits.
Haha, right?

Thanks for the words o' wisdom. Yeah, when I was unemployed, it was VERY hard to get a job. Lots of interviews, even ones that would seemingly go well, but if it came to talking about why I was fired, things would inevitably get dicey. I always tried to spin it in the most positive way possible, but it's hard to sugar coat a story about a crazy customer lying screaming in your face and putting words in your mouth, new (and bad) management instantly firing you over it rather than issuing any sort of prior warning, and all of this after months of mental abuse under a tyrannical heavy-handedness. Lest you think I'm just being oversensitive, I would say this about no other store I've worked at, even ones within that same company.

The sad thing is, I actually really like working where I'm at now. It's just the right pace, and the management isn't perfect, but I fit in very well with their style. I simply wish I could make more doing it. The pay will not sustain me in the long run if I wish to achieve any sort of financial goals.

Wow! I had a 60's flashback viewing that bus! Hey, kiddo, you have too many smarts in that pretty little head of yours and too much effervescency in the personify department to waste your future on that job. It's merely a stepping stone, a launching pad, for bigger and better coming around the corner.

The world's a big apple, go take a big bite!

Thanks, Rich. Yep, I had that realization just today. The manager of the entire store is just unprofessional and people don't respect him. I was trying my best, but things have gone downhill. The other day, he proved he had zero math skills, when he argued with a couple of customers I was helping. These customers were annoying "coupon grabbers" who take whole stacks of coupons, and subsequently have repeating coupon barcodes, which the computer does not allow. However, just for them I honored them, but had to split the sale into two transactions. Long story short, my manager did not know that several items discounted to 50% off, then added together, would be the same as adding all those items together and THEN taking 50% off. After a back and forth with the customers, he still wouldn't back down from his stance, even later on when we were talking about the situation. I didn't want to appear disrespectful, even though I knew he was wrong, so I just nodded.

Today, he was being passive-aggressive and calling myself and another coworker "Mea Junior." Mea is a long-time employee that he often has spats with, because Mea has a more thorough, customer-first approach, whereas the store manager treats customers like they're an annoyance. Mea isn't perfect, and is very stubborn, but I respect how she treats people.

Well, having worked for Nordstrom, who also puts customers as the highest priority, I also have a "bend-over-backwards" approach toward customer service. I know there needs to be a happy medium, but I'm still adapting, and my boss isn't being very patient with me.

I also snapped at this bossy-pants coworker, who takes on a very managerial and demanding tone, and she is NOT a manager. Not a great day.

As soon as Christmas is over, I will be looking for a new job.

Merry Christmas!

After waking up today, making pumpkin pies, etc., we went to pick up my stepkids at their grandparents' house.

I realized, though, that my window had been slightly open all night in the rain. Accidentally hit the button when going through the drive thru the night before, and didn't realize it. Soo....wet seat and door armrest. Luckily, the rear seat heater did allow the seat to dry; the armrest will just have to take longer. Towels were, of course, used to sop up the mess.

Plan on going to my grandparents' for dinner tonight also.

Oh, unrelated to my car, but today we also came to suspect that we were misinformed about our dog, Kato. We were told he was Chihuahua and Dachshund, but after talking to someone with a Min Pin Dachshund, and also having my husband say something about him looking much more like a Min Pin than a Chihuahua, I did some research.

Although I will never be able to completely confirm this, in searching for pics online, he looks MUCH more like a Min Pin and/or Min Pin Dachshund than a Chiweenie. In fact, I could not find one online pic of a Chiweenie that looked anything like him. But I did find several close matches under Min Pin and Min Pin Weenie.

Holly, this lifestyle you have would be perfect for a sit-com! Or, a movie.

Not too much action today, except almost got run off the road by a Subaru Forester who didn't seem to be sure which lane they wanted to be in. I thought they were changing lanes without signaling (left lane to right) and I went to pass them, then they swerved back into my lane, causing me to have to swerve to the left, into an oncoming turning lane.

Oh, and some goose took a HUGE dump on my car, and it looked like canned spinach. Two huge globs on my roof, and one on the front passenger side window, which was running down onto my door. I realized it on my lunch break, and I didn't have much time, so I threw some water on it and tried to pick up what I could with a napkin, without scratching the car. Will give her a wash tomorrow (too dark and cold tonight).

Thank you, shocko. I love your comment about the cows! If cows flew, there would me even more random casualties.
