Gave Samson a tuna can to lick today; well, he ended up using it as a chew toy. I can't imagine being cool with biting through metal!

@Xion: Nope, I'll just let him bite open all cans from now on. Only problem is, he'd probably eat the food inside, too, and he's allergic to so much.

I dunno but maybe metal isn't good for dog teeth? My dog has been loosing a lot of hair the last few months, usualy in winter Nitika has a thick winter double coat but right now she looks naked lol, the guy at the food store told me that many dogs are allergic to chicken powder in dog food, I switched to lamb food and her hair loss has stopped. Maybe you can try lamb? lamb is easily digested and make their fur to look healty.
