Just bought an '08 Accent GS for my daughter. Looks like a great starter car to teach her to drive a standard transmission. I believe that all drivers should start with a manual
. So far the car is great and have really enjoyed reading the reviews.

Welcome! The manual transmission in this gen Accent is one of the hardest to learn on, lol! The clutch is touchy and releases twards the top end of travel, and the stock non-SE shifter is notchy. The sport shifter kit really improves the shift action, and takes away the notchy feel, there's a thread on that, with the how-to. Expect 27-31 mpgs around town.
