hi there,

i have a problem whicvh i have been told needs an engine overhaul.

1 week ago, the engine was leaking on my 01trajet 2.7 v6. I sent it to the workshop and was told that the round seal between the rocker cover and the engine. When the rocker cover was removed, alot of sludge was noticed in the engine. A flush was done, new oil and filter was put in, engine oil sump pick-up checked for blockage and PCV valve changed as previous one was blocked.

Now, engine pressure does not sustain (according to mechanics) and light comes on when engine is warm at idle. i have been told that it needs an overhaul. i would really like to avoid this.

does anyone have any thought regarding how to get the pressure back up?

thank you.

I'd try changing my oil filter... A LOT. Might help.

read the topic, that's been done.

the only other thing you could try is to fit a new oil pressure switch. but from what you say its not very hopeful and you may well have low oil pressure
