Default Wheel hub caps

Hi friends,

Can anyone confirm how I might remove the hubcaps on my Matrix 2002 1.6 gls
It may sound a silly question but I have tried to prize a hub cap off but it appears that the 4 wheel nuts are holding it in place. I am perhaps being too cautious but I dont want to damage the caps.

Thank you in anticipation.

Default

The wheel nuts hold the wheel covers in place, they have a small flange on them that prevents the cover decorating the roadside in bumpy areas.

Thanks for that.
Seems a bit extreme having to release the wheel in order to remove hub cap!
