Hyudai Metrix 2002 Auto 1.8

Hi every body in this forum
I have a Hyudai 2002 1.8 Auto I have seen meny times it's not starting like when it's not placed P the gear, when I left it will start again when I try meny times, this make me to think some think is wrong but when I took the car to a garage they are telling me you don't have any problem. Could you please give me any idea what is wrong my car.

You can only start when its in P or N position....
