Hello everyone, Im hoping someone out there can help.

I currently have a Hyundai Matrix and I am experiencing some difficulties with the central locking. It seems as if the locks are trying to lock and unlock themselves constantly, although the doors do not actually lock, there is a constant clicking noise as if this is happening.

It is happening even when the car is parked and has got that bad, that the battery is being drained and I am having to jump start the car every morning.

Ive booked it into a garage for Tuesday but have been warned that they will charge by the hour and Im worried how much its going to cost me.

I see this type of thng has been mentioned in this forum before but there do not seem to be any definite answers, I would like to be able to go to the garage armed with a bit of knowledge.

Thank you everyone in advance for your help.

hello mate,

unfortunately I have never fixed the problem.

I contacted Hyundai one day who told me over the phone, that the problem would be with the right hand door solenoid and that it was a common problem. It was going to cost £140 for the part, and then obviously labour costs. However, when I rang the next day to confirm what day I would take it in, they suddenly changed, and said 'it may not be the solenoid' and that I needed to take it in for diagnostics. I knew then that this was going to cost me an arm and a leg, and Im only keeping the car until the end of the year. So to save money, I instead just removed the Central Locking Fuse and now lock the car manually.

In my opinion, it would have been the solenoid, as I took it another garage previously, and they opened the doors and cleaned the locks and the solenoids, and it stopped for a while. To be honest, the car is a piece of ****, and Im not prepared to fork out the money to get something so minor repaired when Im only going to get buttons for it when its part exed anyway.

Hope this helps.
