i have just brought a 1.4 cdx getz auto, 06 plate and i am wondering if any one else has experienced roll back when on a steepish hill when in drive.... i had an atoz before and it never rolled back once... is this normal, or can anything be done to improve/remove this roll back problem?

Our Getz is manual, but my Honda is automatic, and I can tell you what I have been told.

Rollback on a steepish hill in D I have been informed is normal for automatics. There is a certain amount of clutch creep when you take your foot off the brake, but when the hill is so steep that gravity is greater than the forward momentum of the engine/gearbox, it will roll back.

Maybe the Atoz was lighter or had a different gearbox setup?

But I have been told that this is normal behaviour for automatics.

I normally sit on the footbrake and quickly switch to the accelerator as soon as I can, to catch it before it rolls.
