Hi,

My girlfriend has a Getz (2003 1.3 GSi) and the key is sticking in the drivers door so I have decided to fit a remote system to the central locking so that she does not need the key to open the doors. I did this a few years ago on a 2000 Ford Fiesta using the wiring digram from a Haynes manual and it worked fine. Does anyone know where I can get a wiring diagram from (for the locking system)? If you could post it that would be great.

I am using a kit bought from ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...:EOIBSA:GB:1123

Thanks!

I have installed keyless entry into my daughters and my own Getz. (2004 models).Does your car have central locking fitted? If it does I have the wiring diagrams . I had to add an actuator in the drivers door and I left the original Getz central locking fitted including the key operating switch in the driver's door. When I looked at the job I wanted to achieve the installation with as little modification to the original car as possible. So long as the box you have bought gives a negative pulse for opening and closing it should work. The only thing extra I added to the system ( because I kept the standard central locking system)was two double pole single throw relays to isolate the original system from the system you are installing .Once you see the wiring diagrams you will see the need for this. Let me know if I can help at all. If the diagrams are applicable I will try and get them to you.

I've just bought a Hawk keyless upgrade system and am trying to find the wire colours for the lock / unlock wire on an 06 Getz but struggling so far.

What colour did you find when you installed it?

I thought that year model would have had keyless entry. The 2005 model and on as far as I know in Australia had keyless entry. Our cars are 2004 models and may be wired differently to yours. Try doing a search on the web for manuals for the Getz.Thats all I did and they are very cheap to download.
Cheers

My key started to get stuck to the extent that I almost could not get the key back out of the lock! Want to know a quick easy cost effective fix that will last for years? squirt WD40 into the keyhole, wait a few seconds then insert the key and gently turn it back and forth. That should free off the internal mechanism, which gets clogged over time with rain, dirt, dust, finger grease, etc.
